New Quizzes Updates
Text Block
New Quizzes Text Block – In New Quizzes, instructors are able to provide students additional context with standalone text or prompts that are not tied to questions on a New Quiz.
This allows instructors to add sections to their quizzes that provide instructions or other information to guide students, without needing to include a question.
Warning: To use this feature, ensure that the shuffled questions option is turned off. If it is enabled, you will receive a warning message stating: “The text block sections may not appear in their original order due to the shuffle setting.”
Enhanced Moderation Tools
Several updates to the New Quizzes Moderate Page enhance the instructor’s ability to manage accommodations during active quiz attempts:
- Instructors can add time to an active quiz attempt when moderating a New Quiz.
Discussion Updates
2025 Feature Updates to Discussion – Permalink
In Discussions, each reply includes a copyable permalink allowing users to share a direct link to that specific reply. If the reply is part of a thread, the thread will expand to reveal it.
- This update makes it easier to navigate and reference specific replies in a discussion.

Removal of Attach Button from Discussions and Announcements.
Discussions and Announcements, the dedicated Attach button is no longer available. File and media upload functionality is fully supported through the Rich Content Editor (RCE). 
Respondus 4.0 Updates
Publishing to Canvas New or Classic Quizzes
The Respondus 4 Exam Authoring tool supports the publishing of assessments directly to Canvas New Quizzes. Version 4.1.0.02 or higher is required.
