TAMU Digital Learning Update
Canvas and ORCA Changes
- All ORCA pages now have support resources and information
- Faculty Training community typology updated to Faculty/Staff Training
- Alternative Teacher roles can now add course associate roles through ORCA
- Community templates have been simplified from five to one common template
University-Wide Tools
Note: LTI refers to the learning tools integration standards that seamlessly connect web-based tools. In addition to security improvements, different versions may have functionality changes. LTI 1.3 is the current standard, but LTI 1.1 versions of tools may still be the best and in some cases, we have both versions 1.1 and 1.3 installed.
- Added Panopto (Available August 12)
- Added Google Gemini LTI
- Upgraded to Poll Everywhere 2.0
- Removed Springshare 1.1 (Library Resources)
- Removed Ally 1.1
- Removed Dream Qualtrics LTI
Subaccount-Specific Tools
- Added Flatworld (Agriculture & Life Sciences)
- Added Examsoft (VetMed)
- Upgraded Honorlock from 1.1 to 1.3 (Engineering, Law, Nursing + Arts & Sciences – only PBSI and Statistics; LTI 1.1 disabled for Anthropology, History and Mathematics)
- Enabled Zybooks deeplinking feature (Engineering, Mays, Qatar)
- Enforced iClicker domain restrictions for all subaccounts
- Removed Harmonize (Architecture)
Additional technical and account maintenance and upgrades were performed.
