Tool Description
Zoom is a video-first communication tool that integrates into Canvas to support hybrid delivery, virtual office hours, meetings, and chat. Zoom has a tight integration with Canvas, allowing meetings to be scheduled and joined using the Zoom option on the course navigation menu.
Turning Off the Access Password for Existing Recordings
Please Note: This must be done for each recording that is already available.
- Log in to https://tamu.zoom.us/
- From the menu on the left side of the screen, click Recordings & Transcripts
- Find the video you would like to remove the passcode for
- Click the Share button below the recording (it looks like an arrow, next to the three dots)
- In the window that pops up, click Share settings
- Uncheck the box for Passcode
- Click Save
- Repeat steps 3-7 for each recording
Turning Off Access Password for Future Recordings
Please Note: Once this is done, all future recordings will not have an Access Password.
- Log in to https://tamu.zoom.us/
- From the menu on the left side of the screen, click Settings
- From the row of tabs at the top of the screen, click Recordings
- Scroll down to the section titled Share
- Find Require passcode to access shared cloud recordings and turn this option Off
- Settings will save automatically
