Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access Poll Everywhere 2.0?
Access Poll Everywhere 2.0 through your Canvas Course or by visiting the Poll Everywhere website. Instructors or presenters should use their Texas A&M login credentials.
Why does Canvas ask me to sign in with my school’s Poll Everywhere account?

This error may occur if your Canvas profile uses an alias email instead of your NetID email. Confirm your Canvas email settings before accessing Poll Everywhere again.

  1. In Canvas, go to Account > Profile.
  2. Check the email under Ways to Contact.
  3. Confirm it matches your NetID email.
  4. If an alias is primary, make your NetID email primary.
  5. If your NetID email is missing or unconfirmed, add it and authorize the Instructure email.
  6. Return to Canvas and open Poll Everywhere again.

Will my Poll Everywhere 1.0 activities be moved to Poll Everywhere 2.0?
Yes. Existing activities created in Poll Everywhere 1.0 will be migrated automatically to Poll Everywhere 2.0. Migrated activities will be stored in a folder named Imported from 1.0 on 08/17/2026. Instructors can continue using these activities after the upgrade and may move any imported activities into the main folder for better organization.
Why can’t I find activities created with a different Poll Everywhere 1.0 email?

Poll Everywhere 2.0 uses TAMU NetID registration. If activities were created with a departmental email address – [dept].tamu.edu, they may not appear under your NetID account. Follow these steps to locate and share the migrated folder.

  1. Log in to Poll Everywhere 2.0 using your TAMU NetID to register the account in the updated system.
  2. Confirm that your role is listed as Polls Creator, rather than Participant. If your role is listed as Participant, contact LMS Support to request Poll Creator access.
  3. After the NetID account is established, log out of Poll Everywhere 2.0.
  4. Open an Incognito or private browser window, then log in to Poll Everywhere using the previous departmental email address used in Poll Everywhere 1.0.
  5. Confirm that the account opens in Poll Everywhere 2.0 and check whether the Imported from 1.0 on 08-17-2026 folder is available.
  6. Click the checkbox next to the Imported from 1.0 on 08-17-2026 folder, select the three dots for the folder, and then click Share.

  7. Type the new email address in the space under User, set the permission to Owner so the new email address has full access to all activities, and then click Share.

  8. Log out of Poll Everywhere 2.0 from the departmental email address account and then close the Incognito or private browser window.
  9. Go back to your browser, and log back in to Poll Everywhere 2.0 using your TAMU NetID and confirm that the shared folder is available.
Will I lose any of my existing polls or response data?
No loss of existing polls is expected as part of the migration. Instructors are encouraged to review their activities after the upgrade to confirm that polls, settings, and response data appear as expected.
Will students need to do anything differently?
Students can continue responding to Poll Everywhere activities as directed by the instructor. If an activity is configured with audience restriction settings for tracking, grading or attendance, students will be prompted to sign-in using their Texas A&M credentials.
How does the class roster sync in Poll Everywhere 2.0?
Poll Everywhere 2.0 can sync Canvas course rosters so students are linked to their responses for participation tracking and grading. Instructors can manually sync the roster from the Participants area, and automatic nightly roster sync may be enabled when available.
Can I continue using activities that were embedded in PowerPoint Presentations?
Yes. Before presenting, review and test any PowerPoint slides with embedded Poll Everywhere activities. If an error occurs, download Poll Everywhere 2.0 for Windows, Mac, or Office 365 PowerPoint from Poll Everywhere 2.0 for PowerPoint.
