We encourage you to remember that this is an extraordinary moment when we all will find ourselves online and adapting activities to an online environment. Help each other and also your professors as we all adapt to keep teaching and learning online at Texas A&M University.
CAPS continues to provide counseling services to our students via phone and/or Zoom. Visit our website to learn more about our
current services and
what to expect in teletherapy appointments. CAPS also continues to accommodate outreach requests via remote means.
There are many resources available for coping during
COVID-19.
HelpLine is a great resource if students need to talk about anything, and Sanvello is a wonderful self-help app for students to learn more ways to manage stress, anxiety and depression. Students can also visit CAPS’
self-help page for additional resources.
Some of our campus community members may be experiencing
racism and xenophobia during this time. Please explore the resources on our website for ideas of how to manage these challenges.
If faculty are
concerned for a student, there are various avenues to explore in getting them assistance.
Kognito At-Risk is a 45-minute, online, interactive gatekeeper intervention training program that teaches students, faculty, and staff how to identify individuals exhibiting signs of psychological distress, including depression; approach individuals to discuss their concerns; and make referrals to Texas A&M Counseling and Psychological Services and other community resources. We also continue to offer
suicide awareness and prevention trainings online.
