Welcome to the Start of the Spring 2023 Semester! We encourage you to follow the steps below to help you navigate setting up your course in Canvas.

MERGE COURSE SECTIONS

Combine course sections via ORCA by January 12 at 11:59 PM. After that date, we will not merge sections due to the potential loss of student data.

ASSIGN COURSE ROLES

Verify all users enrolled in a Course Associate role have completed FERPA and Information Security Awareness training in TrainTraq.

ACCESS CANVAS

Use your TAMU NETID and Password to sign into the technologies that comprise Texas A&M’s digital learning environment.

SET UP YOUR COURSE

Leverage our returning or new faculty Start-of-Semester Checklists to set up your course in Canvas designed to enhance your students' experience.

OPT IN TO THE OBSERVER PROGRAM FOR ATHLETICS

Opt-in to the Observer Program for Athletics beginning January 23 if you have a student athlete enrolled in your course.

New for the Spring 2023 Semester!

Brand new to the Spring 2023 semester we have created improved efficiencies for enrolling non-employees into your Canvas courses. This revised workflow will provide direct access to complete training for non-employees who need to be assigned a course associate role in your course. With these improvements you will no longer be required to submit the Non-Employee Training CSV! After you enroll a non-employee in your course section via ORCA, they will receive an email with links for how to complete the required FERPA and Information Security Awareness training in TrainTraq. Additional information on this process can be found in Non-Employee Procedures.
