COURSE SETUP CHECKLIST

We encourage you to follow the steps below to set up your course in Canvas ahead of the Summer 2022 term.

	Merge Course Sections	Combine course sections ahead of the start of term
	Export and Import Content	Export and import course content from another course shell to the new course
	Enhance your Syllabus	Enhance the Syllabus page included in your course that integrates current Minimum Syllabus Requirements
	Set Up your Gradebook	Compare gradebook setup with course syllabus
	Edit Due Dates	Bulk edit assignment and exam due dates to match the course schedule
	Publish Course and Modules	Publish course and modules to make content visible to students

Summer 1 and 10-Week Term Merge Deadlines

May 24 (11:59 P.M.): Deadline to merge course sections through the self-service feature in ORCA

May 26 (5:00 P.M.): Deadline to request course section merges through the Office for Academic Innovation

Summer 2 Term Merge Deadlines

June 30 (11:59 P.M.): Deadline to merge course sections through the self-service feature in ORCA

July 5 (5:00 P.M.): Deadline to request course section merges through the Office for Academic Innovation

Due to a potential loss of student data, no exceptions will be made for the May 26 and July 5 deadlines.


	Blackboard Archive Going Away August 31, 2022 Spring and Summer 2021 courses will be deleted from the Blackboard Archive in late August 2022, consistent with TAMU System records and retention policies. The Blackboard Archive system will be decommissioned as of August 31, 2022. The last day to request access to the system will be August 19, 2022.

	Fall 2022 Canvas Shells Update We do not currently have a date for the release of Fall 2022 Canvas shells due to shifts as a result of the Path Forward. As soon as we have that date set, we will communicate further on our website.

	Opt In to Observer Role Program for Athletics Later in June, we will be communicating with faculty who have student athletes enrolled in their course sections on steps to take to opt in to the Observer Role program for Athletics. Visit Student Observer Role for more information.

	Office for Academic Innovation Memorial Day Hours The Office for Academic Innovation will be closed in conjunction with the university’s closure on Monday, May 30.
