About Us

The Office for Academic Innovation is an initiative within the Office of the Provost, created to centrally support Texas A&M University’s strategic growth in online and hybrid delivery. TAMU currently offers 52 distance degrees and associated certificates, and we are working in collaborative partnership with the 17 Schools and Colleges, Branch Campuses, and McAllen Higher Education Center to continue to expand the reach of the university. The Office for Academic Innovation is committed to inspiring innovation in line with Texas A&M University’s strategic focus on transformational teaching and learning. We seek to impact student success by creating: pathways for improved student retention in an era of digitally-native students; pathways for delivery supported by the diverse education technology landscape; and pathways for enrollment that are designed to be accessible to students across the state of Texas, nation and world. Our Location

The Office for Academic Innovation is located on the top floor of Texas A&M University’s new Innovative Learning Classroom Building, and includes a brand new, state-of-the-art 1,500 ft² multimedia production suite.

Leadership positions are not remote and here’s why: We believe that transformational teaching and learning can and should be digital first. We were at the helm of supporting the rapid shift to remote instruction. We are one of the implementing partners overhauling the digital learning environment at TAMU amidst supporting remote instruction. The talent driving all this works from the top floor of Texas A&M’s new Innovative Learning Classroom Building, where our space and culture collide. Communications Specialist II


The Office for Academic Innovation is seeking a Communications Specialist II, who will create, edit, and peer review content to support high-quality, digitally-enhanced instruction at Texas A&M University. We are looking for an individual who can conceptualize, produce, review, and align content with our student, faculty, and staff audiences; and amplify messages across communication platforms, email, websites, and social media channels. In this role, the Communications Specialist II must have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail; and experience using cloud-based software to enhance communication, as well as track associated analytics. This position will necessitate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of talent across the Office for Academic Innovation in our support of Texas A&M’s digital learning environment. Projects you will work on may include: drafting scripts for educational media production, peer-reviewing and copy-editing content for integration into online courses and other web-based assets, and applying accessibility strategies across all forms of communication.

Manager, Instructional Design - New to Texas A&M University!


The Office for Academic Innovation is seeking a Manager, Instructional Design who will lead the accessibility strategy at Texas A&M University for face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. We are looking for an individual to work fluidly across a cannon of theories, industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends relevant to instructional design in a higher education setting. While the Manager, Instructional Design will primarily engage with faculty, the ideal candidate will be adept at facilitating learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective, accessible, and appealing manner. In this role, the Manager, Instructional Design will also work with support staff across Texas A&M University's Schools and Colleges, Branch Campuses, and Higher Education Center to create, manage, and oversee customized course templates. This position will particularly focus on the Office for Academic Innovation's commitment to an accessible digital learning environment with a high impact on students at TAMU; in this role, the Manager will take the lead on the intervention and training strategy on accessibility, as well as other relevant projects and processes where accessibility is paramount.

Academic Technology Analyst I


The Office for Academic Innovation is seeking an Academic Technology Analyst to perform routine business analysis support functions for testing, integrations, analytics, and general project management of learning technologies that comprise the university's centrally-supported digital learning environment. This position will join a growing team dedicated to project management of the digital learning environment at Texas A&M University. Time management, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills are crucial for success in this position. The ideal candidate will have specialized skills in analyzing, communicating, and visualizing data produced by the digital learning environment. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional who thrives in a fast-paced and student-oriented environment. We directly support faculty in all that we do in the Office for Academic Innovation. As such, the ideal candidate will seek to connect learning technologies and data to support faculty in achieving student learning outcomes.
